The Family History Research Unit

The family history unit is an integral part of the Mayo North Heritage Centre and was set up to carry out genealogical research for clients whose ancestors came from the northern part of Co Mayo. It is a member of the Irish Family History Foundation and is the designated centre for genealogy in North Mayo. The unit has been indexing records since 1983 and has amassed a wealth of local knowledge that is an essential part of the process of putting together comprehensive family trees.
